I identify as a cream

To cream or not to cream

The seemingly new world of bio identical hormones and understanding why this way not the traditional approach can feel like a daunting task at first. It can be quite simple if you take the right direction. And this direction is not the path our mothers took.

Firstly, find a doctor and I would suggest one that is familiar with this type of therapy. Second, you must get a blood test preferably in the morning without any food or drink. It must represent your pure self. This includes stopping to take other supplements such as vitamins and minerals because you will need to have those measured also. The decline at this moment is happening in the body as a whole. These test will solve most of your body’s responses to the decline in hormones if done thoroughly. And lastly, your results will give your doctor the information to prescribe you your own personal hormone cocktail. As I quickly commented on in my previous blog “Help! I am too hot” I was prescribed two different creams consisting of progesterone, estradiol and testosterone. One to rub on the pulse and one to rub around the vulva for fast absorption and both taken in the morning. Understanding the balance of these creams is the job of a doctor who believes in this type of hormone replacement therapy HTR. I also needed to supplement in pill form called DHEA and various vitamins and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, Omega 3, B6 and B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc. There are multivitamin options that can meet your needs.

If you are reading my blog then you already know that this kind of information is out there and it is mostly perpetuated by other women. The chemical option is also well known but treats our changing bodies as if we are ill or have ailment. WE are not!.
